Make business facts consistent
Use one approved version of the business name, address, phone, website, and hours. Audit major directories, industry associations, chambers, social profiles, and mapping providers for duplicates or outdated information. Quality and relevance matter more than being listed everywhere.
Build a legitimate review process
Ask real customers for honest feedback at a natural point after service. Make the request easy, never buy reviews, and do not condition an incentive on a positive rating. Respond professionally without exposing private customer details. Track review volume, recency, response rate, and recurring themes.
Connect profiles to the website
Use a consistent contact page, location details, service areas, organization schema, and locally relevant service content. Link to the correct page rather than sending every profile visitor to a generic homepage when a better destination exists.
Audit quarterly
Recheck hours, holiday closures, categories, photos, services, links, duplicate listings, and unauthorized edits. Record ownership and recovery methods so the organization—not an employee or vendor—retains control.
